Chapter 9 — Ninth Khanda

Jabal Darshan
6 Shloka • Translation Only
Now I shall explain Dhyāna (meditation), the destroyer of Saṃsāra. The Supreme Brahman is Ṛta (Cosmic Truth) and Satya (Absolute Reality), the universal remedy for the entire cycle of worldly existence.
One should meditate with reverence upon Mahādeva, the three-eyed Lord (Virūpākṣa), whose form is the entire universe and who transcends all limitation. Contemplating with the awareness, “He am I” (So'ham), the yogi should meditate upon the Lord of the lords of Yoga.
Or one may meditate upon Īśāna as Truth, Knowledge, Bliss, and Non-duality— supremely pure, eternal, and free from beginning, middle, and end.
As neither gross nor subtle, beyond space, untouched by contact, and invisible to the eyes; devoid of taste and smell, immeasurable, and without any equal or comparison.
O noble one, one should meditate upon the Self as Existence-Consciousness-Bliss (Sat-Cit-Ānanda), infinite Brahman. Contemplating, “I am That,” and transcending all objects of meditation, one attains liberation.
For the great soul who is devoted to constant practice in this manner, the direct realization of the truth taught by Vedānta gradually arises—of this there is no doubt.
