तमाराध्य जगन्नाथं प्रणिपत्य पितामहः ।
पप्रच्छ योगतत्त्वं मे ब्रूहि चाष्टाङ्गसंयुतम् ॥
The Grandfather (Brahma) having saluted the Lord of the universe (Vişnu) and having paid Him due respects, asked Him (thus): "Please, explain to us the truth of yoga which includes in it the eight subservients."
