मत्या परीक्ष्य मेधावी वुद्ध्या सम्पाद्य चासकृत्।
श्रुत्वा दृष्ट्वाथ विज्ञाय प्राज्ञैमैत्रीं समाचरेत् ॥
The wise judge by reason and experience, again and again by their own experience, determine their worth, then by listening to others, and, seeing and considering themselves, make friends with the learned.
