जीर्णमन्नं प्रशंसन्ति भार्यं च गतयौवनाम् ।
शूरं विगतसङ्ग्रामं गतपारं तपस्विनम् ॥
A gentleman praises food when he has digested it, a woman after her idle youth has passed, a brave man after he has won a battle, and a ascetic when he has attained the knowledge of the elements.
