भिक्षाशी जनमध्यसंगरहितः स्वायत्तचेष्टः सदा
दानादानविरक्तमार्गनिरतः कश्चित्तपस्वी स्थितः।।
रथ्याक्षीणविशीर्णजीर्णवसनैः सम्प्राप्तकंथासखि-
र्निमानो निरहंकृतिः शमसुखाभोगैकबद्धस्पृहः।।
Such an ascetic is rare, who eats by begging, who lives in his own people and does not get attached to them, who leads his life independently, who has given up the practice of giving and taking, who covers the pile of rags lying on the way, who does not care about honour, who does not have pride and who considers the happiness of Brahma Gyan (knowledge) as happiness.
