दुराराध्यः स्वामी तुरगचलचित्ताः क्षितिभुजो
वयं तु स्थूलेच्छा महति च पदे बद्धमनसः।
जरा देहं मृत्युर्हरति सकलं जीवितमिदं
सखे नान्यच्छ्रेयो जगति विदुषोऽन्यत्र तपसः।।
It is difficult to please the owner. The hearts of kings are fickle like horses. Here our desires are very heavy; On the other hand, we are desirous of a very heavy position – salvation. Old age destroys the body and death destroys life. That's why friend! For the wise, in this world, there is no other path to betterment than penance.
