गुणान्वयो यः फलकर्मकर्ता कृतस्य तस्यैव स चोपभोक्ता।
स विश्वरूपस्त्रिगुणस्त्रिवर्त्मा प्राणाधिपः संचरति स्वकर्मभिः॥
Associated with the guṇas, he becomes the doer of actions that produce their results; and he alone experiences the fruits of those actions. Assuming various forms throughout the universe, connected with the three guṇas and moving along the three paths, the lord of the life-forces wanders according to his own karma.
