शुभ्रं सद्य सविभ्रमा युवतयः श्वेतातपत्रोज्ज्वला
लक्ष्मीर् इत्य् अनुभूयते स्थिरम् इव स्फीते शुभे कर्मणि ।
विच्छिन्ने नितराम् अनङ्ग-कलह-क्रीडा-त्रुटत्-तन्तुकं
मुक्ता-जालम् इव प्रयाति झटिति भ्रश्यद्-दिशो दृश्यताम् ॥
As long as the auspicious deeds of a man's previous birth remain in effect, bright buildings, beautiful women with gestures and wealth, all these come to be enjoyed in a stable sense; But as soon as the virtues of the previous birth are destroyed, all this happiness - like the pearls of a necklace broken in the discord of Kamadeva's play - soon disappear everywhere.
