शब्दस्पर्शरूपरसगन्धाः पृथिवीगुणाः । शब्दस्पर्शरूपरसाश्चापां गुणाः । शब्दस्पर्शरूपा- ण्यग्निगुणाः । शब्दस्पर्शाविति वायुगुणौ। शब्द एक आकाशस्य ॥
Earth’s attributes are— Sound, Touch, Form, Taste and Smell; of Water are— Sound, Touch, Form and Taste; of Fire are— Sound, Touch and Form; of Air are— Sound and Touch; of Ether is— Sound only.
