शब्दस्पर्शरूपरसगन्धाः पृथिवीगुणाः । शब्दस्पर्शरूपरसाश्चापां गुणाः । शब्दस्पर्शरूपा- ण्यग्निगुणाः । शब्दस्पर्शाविति वायुगुणौ। शब्द एक आकाशस्य ॥
Earth’s attributes are Sound, Touch, Form, Taste and Smell; of water are sound, touch, form and taste; of fire are sound, touch and form; of air are sound and touch; of ether is sound only.
