The process of quintuplication (pañcīkaraṇa) involves dividing each of the five elements into two parts, discarding one half, and then further dividing the remaining half into four.
These parts are then combined with the corresponding parts of the other elements.
This process, a manifestation of illusion (māyā), is perceived through superimposition and negation, ultimately leading to the realization of the distinction between the manifested and unmanifested.
