विद्या कीर्तिः पालनं ब्राह्मणानां
दानं भोगो मित्रसंरक्षणम् च ।
येषामेते षड्गुणा न प्रवृत्ताः
कोऽर्थस्तेषां पार्थिवोपाश्रयेण॥
Those men who do not have these six virtues - knowledge, fame, following Brahmins, charity, enjoyment and protection of friends, their service to the kingdom is useless.
