शिरः शार्वं स्वर्गात् पशुपतिशिरस्तः क्षितिधरम्।
महीध्रादुत्तुङगादवनिमवनेश्चापि जलधिम्।
अधो गङ्गा सेयं पदमुपगता स्तोकमथवा।
विवेकभ्रष्टानां भवति विनिपातः शतमुखः ।।
Ganga first fell from heaven on Shiva's head, fell from his head on the Himalayan Mountain, from there fell on the earth and flowed from the earth to the ocean. In this way, starting from top to bottom, Ganga fell down and became small. The condition of those people, who become corrupted by conscience, is similar to that of Ganga, their downfall also happens in hundreds of ways like Ganga.
