Kaushitaki Brahmana • Chapter 4 • Shloka 17
स होवाच बालाकिर्य एवैष सव्येऽक्षन्पुरुषस्तमेवाहमुपास इति तं होवाचाजातशत्रुर्मा मैतस्मिन्संवादयिष्ठाः सत्यस्यात्मा विद्युत आत्मा तेजस आत्मेति वा अहमेतमुपास इति स यो हैतमेवमुपास्त एतेषां सर्वेषामात्मा भवतीति ॥
Balaki said:
“The Person who dwells in the left eye—it is He whom I worship.”
Ajatashatru replied:
“Do not speak to me about Him in that way. I worship Him as the Self of Truth, the Self of lightning, and the Self of radiance.”
He continued:
“Whoever worships Him in this manner becomes one with the essence of all these powers, and realizes himself as the inner Self of truth, brilliance, and illumination.”
