Kaushitaki Brahmana • Chapter 4 • Shloka 14
स होवाच बालाकिर्य एवैष शारीरः पुरुषस्तमेवाहमुपास इति तं होवाचाजातशत्रुर्मा मैतस्मिन्संवादयिष्ठाः प्रजापतिरिति वा अहमेतमुपास इति स यो हैतमेवमुपास्ते प्रजायते प्रजया पशुभिः ॥
Balaki said:
“The Person who dwells in the body—it is He whom I worship.”
Ajatashatru replied:
“Do not speak to me about Him in that way. I worship Him as Prajāpati, the Lord of Creation and Progeny.”
He continued:
“Whoever worships Him in this manner becomes blessed with offspring and prosperity, and flourishes with children, cattle, and abundance.”
