वागेवास्या एकमङ्गमदूहळं तस्यै नाम परस्तात्प्रतिविहिता भूतमात्रा। प्राणमेवास्या एकमङ्गमदूळं तस्य गन्धः परस्तात्प्रतिविहिता भूतमात्रा चक्षुरेवास्या एकमङ्गमदूळं तस्य रूपं परस्तात्प्रतिविहिता भूतमान्ना श्रोत्रमेवास्या एकमङ्गमदूळं तस्य शब्दः परस्तात्प्रतिविहिता भूतमात्रा जिहैवास्या एकमङ्गमदूळं तस्या अन्नरसः परस्तात्प्रतिविहिता भूतमात्रा हस्तावेवास्या एकमङ्गमदूळं तयोः कर्म परस्तात्प्रतिविहिता भूतमात्रा शरीरमेवास्या एकमङ्गमदूकं तस्य सुखदुःखे परस्तात्प्रतिविहिता भूतमात्रोपस्थ एवास्या एकमङ्गमदूळं तस्यानन्दो रतिः प्रजातिः परस्तात्प्रतिविहिता भूतमात्रा पादावेवास्था एकमङ्गमदूळं तयोरित्या परस्तात्प्रतिविहिता भूतमात्रा प्रशैवास्या एकमङ्गमदूळं तस्यै थियो विज्ञातव्यं कामाः पुरस्तात्प्रतिविहिता भूतमात्रा ॥
Speech is one limb of Consciousness. Corresponding to it, and established beyond it, are names as its objects. Prāṇa (the organ of smell) is one limb of Consciousness. Corresponding to it, and established beyond it, are odors as its objects. The eye is one limb of Consciousness. Corresponding to it, and established beyond it, are forms as its objects. The ear is one limb of Consciousness. Corresponding to it, and established beyond it, are sounds as its objects. The tongue is one limb of Consciousness. Corresponding to it, and established beyond it, are tastes of food as its objects. The hands are one limb of Consciousness. Corresponding to them, and established beyond them, are actions as their objects. The body is one limb of Consciousness. Corresponding to it, and established beyond it, are pleasure and pain as its objects. The generative organ is one limb of Consciousness. Corresponding to it, and established beyond it, are joy, sexual delight, and procreation as its objects. The feet are one limb of Consciousness. Corresponding to them, and established beyond them, is movement as their object. Intelligence (Prajñā) is one limb of Consciousness. Corresponding to it, and established beyond it, are thoughts, knowledge, and desires as its objects.
