अथातः सर्वजितः कौषीतकेस्त्रीण्युपासनानि भवन्ति यज्ञोपवीतं कृत्वाऽप आचम्य त्रिरुदपात्रं प्रसिच्योद्यन्तमादित्यमुपतिष्ठेत वर्गों ऽसि पाप्मानं मे वृद्धीत्येतयैवावृता मध्ये सन्तमुद्वर्गोऽसि पाप्मानं मे वृद्धीत्येतयैवावृताऽस्तं यन्तं संवर्गोऽसि पाप्मानं मे संवृद्धीति । यदहोरात्राभ्यां पापं करोति सं तद्वृङ्क्ते ॥
Now, concerning the three meditations (upāsanās) taught by Sarvajit Kauṣītaki. Having placed the sacred thread in the proper position and having performed ācamana (ritual sipping of water), one should sprinkle water three times from a water vessel. Then one should worship the rising Sun, saying: "You are the absorber (Saṁvarga). Remove my sin." Using the same formula, when the Sun is at midday, one should say: "You are the absorber. Remove my sin." Again, using the same formula, when the Sun is setting, one should say: "You are the absorber. Remove my sin." Whatever sin a person commits during the day and night, by this practice he casts it off.
