पठई भेंट बिदेह बहुत बहु भाँतिन्ह।
देखत देव सिहाहिं अनंद बरातिन्ह॥
Videh (king Janak) sent countless varieties of gifts for the guests. The Gods praised such gesture, and the members of the marriage party felt very happy, delighted and contented.
(The Gods praised king Janak for being noble-hearted and liberal in giving gifts to the invited guests. The guests on the other hand felt happy and contented as it indicated that they are being properly honoured and shown due respect by the bride’s father. The immensity of the gifts also showed them that he is rich and prosperous. Of course, every one of the groom’s side would feel happy on finding out that the bride’s side is prosperous and well-off financially.)
