अज्ञानान्मलिनो भाति ज्ञानाच्छ्रुद्धो विभात्ययम्। अज्ञानमलपङ्कं यः क्षालयेज्ज्ञानतोयतः । स एव सर्वदा शुद्धो नान्यः कर्मरतो हि सः ॥
Owing to ignorance, the Ātman appears impure; through knowledge, It shines forth as pure.
He who washes away the mud of ignorance with the water of knowledge alone is truly purified at all times.
Not so the one who remains merely engaged in external actions and rituals.
