परिच्छिन्नं फलं यत्र प्रतिस्कन्धेन दीयते ।
स्कन्धोपनेयं तं प्राहुः संधिं संधिविचक्षणाः ॥
That alliance in which a specified quantity (part of the produce of the land) that can be borne on the shoulders is given, those conversant with the art of making peace call Skandhopaneya Treaty.
