तज्ज्ञस्य पुण्यपापाभ्यां स्पर्शो ह्यन्तर्न जायते।
न ह्याकाशस्य धूमेन दृश्यमानापि सङ्गतिः॥
For the knower of Truth, there is no inner contact with either merit (Puṇya) or demerit (Pāpa).
Just as space is not truly affected by smoke,
even though smoke may appear within it.
