धीरो न द्वेष्टि संसारमा-त्मानं न दिदृक्षति।
हर्षामर्षविनिर्मुक्तो न मृतो न च जीवति॥
The wise one does not hate Saṃsāra,
nor does he seek to behold the Self as an object.
Free from both elation and resentment,
he is neither dead,
nor does he live in the ordinary sense.
He simply abides as the Self, beyond all such distinctions.
