Abhijnanashakuntalam • Chapter 2 • Shloka 10
Jester— If that is so, (then) all beautiful women have now become without distinction; that is, because of Śakuntalā (and the charm of her beauty), all other beauties have been overshadowed. King— And this thought arises in my mind: the spotless beauty (loveliness) of that (Śakuntalā) is like a flower not yet smelled (by anyone), like a fresh tender leaf untouched by fingernails, like an unpierced (uncut and flawless) jewel, like fresh (new) honey whose sweetness has never been tasted, and like the complete (unimpaired and perfect) fruit of accumulated merit. I do not know whom the Creator will bring here as the enjoyer (the one destined to possess her).
