Abhijnanashakuntalam • Chapter 1 • Shloka 5
सूत्रधार- आर्ये, साधु गीतम् । अहो, रागबद्धचित्तवृत्तिरालिखित इव सर्वतो रङ्गः, तदिदानीं कतमत् प्रकरणमाश्रित्यैनमाराधयामः ।
नटी- नन्वार्यमिश्रैः प्रथममे वाज्ञप्तमभिज्ञानशाकुन्तलं नामापूर्वं नाटकं प्रयोगेऽधिक्रियतामिति ।
सूत्रधार-- आर्ये, सम्यगनुबोधितोऽस्मि । अस्मिन् क्षणे विस्मृतं खलु मया । कुतः तवास्मि गीतरागेण हारिणा प्रसभं हतः । एष राजेव दुष्यन्तः सारंगेणातिरंहसा ।।

Actress—
O revered sir, you had already instructed that the incomparable (matchless) drama named Abhijnanashakuntalam should be performed (staged).
Stage Manager—
Lady, (by you) I have been properly reminded (that is, you have reminded me well). At this moment I had indeed forgotten (it).
For your enchanting song had completely charmed me, just as the deer captivated the hero of our play.
(Both the Stage Manager and the Actress exit from the stage)
