5 Shloka • Translation Only

King Janaka said: In me, the infinite ocean, the boat of the universe moves here and there, driven by the winds of the mind. Yet I have no impatience, disturbance, or intolerance because of it.

In me, the infinite ocean, the wave of the universe may naturally arise, or it may subside and disappear. Neither is there any increase in me, nor any loss.

In me, the infinite ocean, what is called the universe is merely an imagination of the mind. I am utterly peaceful and formless. In this alone I remain established.

The Ātman is not in objects, nor are objects truly in the Ātman— in that infinite, stainless Reality. Knowing this, I am unattached, free from desire, and at peace. In this alone I remain established.

Ah! I am pure Consciousness alone, and the universe is like a magician's illusion. Therefore, how and where can there arise for me any notion of something to be rejected or something to be accepted?
