About this Scripture
This Upanishad is related to Krishna Yajurveda. In this, various materials related to yoga have been described in detail. The Upanishad begins with the formulation of the esoteric principles of Yoga by Lord Vishnu to Grandfather Brahma. The path of Yoga has been said to be the best means to attain the ultimate destination of Kaivalya. In the order of Mantrayoga, Layyoga, Hathayoga and Rajyoga, its four stages (Marambh, Ghat, Parichay and Nishpatti) have been described. Later, the yogi's diet and daily routine have been mentioned. In the same sequence, the initial symptoms of Yogasiddhi have been described and instructions to be careful about them have also been given. Yoga practice done with full mental strength is undoubtedly successful, which endows the yogi practitioner with all the siddhis (anima, dignity, glory etc.), he becomes the possessor of divine powers. Ultimately, the vacuum of the self gets realized in the soul like a lamp and becomes free from the traffic. Yogatattva Upanishad concludes with this result.
