Salutations to the Supreme Brahman, who is full of ten directions and all three times, infinite and conscious, capable of being revealed by his own experience, calm and bright.
The one in whose love I am immersed day and night – the one who does not forget even for a moment, does not love me, but loves some other man. That man wants some other woman. That's how that woman loves me. That's why many curses to that woman, my beloved's friend, beloved, me and Kamdev (god of lust), whose inspiration makes such things happen.
It is very easy to convince an illiterate ignorant mindless, it is even easier to persuade a wise man who knows right and wrong; But even the creator himself cannot satisfy the one who thinks himself a scholar with a little knowledge.
If a man wants, he can do the industry of extracting a gem from the tip of Capricorn's molars; If he wants, he may try to swim across the turbulent sea with his arms, he may dare to wear a snake full of anger on his head like a wreath, but he who is stubborn, never dare to bring the mind of such a foolish person from the wrong path to the seven paths.
Perhaps someone can get oil out of the sand with some trick, maybe someone can quench his thirst with the water of a mirage; Perhaps someone roaming around on the earth may find the horn of a porcupine; But no one can control the mind of a stubborn, foolish person.
One who wishes to bring the wicked to the right path by his nectarine teachings, commits an unseemly act like one who wants to tie a drunken elephant with the thread of a tender lotus stem, piercing a diamond with the delicate petal of a cirrus flower or wants to sweeten the salty ocean with a drop of honey.
To hide their foolishness, Brahma has told the fools to keep silence as a good way and has also made them under their control. Silence is the cover of stupidity. Not only this, it is also his ornament in the circle of scholars.
When I knew a little, then blinded by pride like an intoxicated elephant, I used to think myself omniscient. But as soon as I knew and learned something from the company of scholars, I came to know that I am a complete fool. At that time my mood went down like a fever.
Just as a dog eating with pleasure the loathsome bone of a man full of worms, drooling, foul-smelling, fleshless, does not even doubt Indra standing nearby, in the same way, a small creature (lowly), who accepts, does not pay attention to its insignificance.
Ganga first fell from heaven on Shiva's head, fell from his head on the Himalayan Mountain, from there fell on the earth and flowed from the earth to the ocean. In this way, starting from top to bottom, Ganga fell down and became small. The condition of those people, who become corrupted by conscience, is similar to that of Ganga, their downfall also happens in hundreds of ways like Ganga.
Fire can be pacified by water, the sun's rays by an umbrella, an elephant by a sharp goad, a drunken buffalo or a horse by wood; Disease can be removed by different medicines, and poison can be removed by different mantras; There is medicine in the scriptures for everything, but there is no medicine for a fool.
The man who is devoid of literature and music, that is, who does not have any knowledge of literature and music or does not have affection for them, is an animal without tail and horns. He does not eat grass and lives; it is the ultimate fortune of other animals.
Those who have neither studied knowledge, nor done penance, nor given charity, nor acquired knowledge, nor behaved like good characters, nor learned virtues, nor performed rituals of dharma - they are going to increase the burden of the earth in vain, in the appearance of a human, they are grazing animals.
It is good to live in the midst of wild forests and mountains with ferocious animals, but even if an opportunity is given to sit with a fool in the assembly of Indra, it should not be accepted.
Poets whose speech is pure and beautiful because of the study of scriptures, who have the ability to teach disciples, who are well-known for their ability - the king in whose kingdom such scholars live in poverty is undoubtedly a fool. Poets are great even without money. If the gem connoisseur reduces the value of the gem, then the value of the gem will not work, the value of the gem will remain the same, the one who decreases the value will be considered clumsy.
Knowledge is such a wealth which is not visible even to a thief, but still the one who has this wealth is always happy. Surely, by donating to those who are desirous of learning, it continuously increases in the honor of the donor as well as itself, and it cannot be destroyed till the end of the cycle (for millions of years). That's why people call learning a secret wealth and that's why even great kings respect a person endowed with such learning wealth by giving up their pride. Who can compete with such a person?
O kings! Those who have found the key to spiritual practice, have attained self-knowledge, do not insult them because Lakshmi cannot stop them in the same way as your straw. Just as the thread of a lotus stem cannot stop the intoxicated Gajendra (Elephant) with a black head decorated with the new earthly items.
If the creator becomes very angry with the swan, then he can destroy his residence and luxury in Kamalvan (lotus pond), but even the creator himself cannot destroy the fame of his famous cleverness (skill) of separating coach grass and water.
Armlets, necklaces of moon-like pearls, bathing, smearing with sandalwood, flowers and decorated hair do not suit a man; The beauty of a man is only by the ritual of speech; Because all other jewels definitely perish, but the jewel in the form of speech always remains present.
Knowledge is the true form and hidden wealth of man; Knowledge is going to give enjoyment, happiness and fame to man; Knowledge is the teacher of the gurus, in foreign countries only knowledge works as a friend, knowledge is the supreme god, only knowledge is respected in kings, not wealth. One who does not have knowledge is like an animal.
If there is forgiveness, then what is the need of armor? If there is anger, then what is the need of enemies? If it is indigenous, then what is the purpose of fire? If there are friends with beautiful hearts, then what is the use of auspicious divine medicines? If he is evil, then what about snakes? If there is innocent knowledge, then what is the use of money? If there is shame, then what is the need of jewellery? If there is the power of beautiful poetry, then what is the purpose of royalty?
One who behaves liberally towards his relatives, kind to others, rude to the wicked, loving to gentlemen, political in court, polite to scholars, cruel to enemies, tolerant in front of teachers and sly or shrewd in women - From those skilful males, there is public dignity or public status; That means the world is standing on him.
Good company, defeats the inertness of the intellect, irrigates truth in speech, increases respect, removes sins, pleases the mind and spreads fame in ten directions. Tell me, what doesn't good company do in a human being?
Blessed are those virtuous poets who have a perfect hand in the best adornment etc. Glory be to him! His body of fame has no fear of old age and death.
An ever-faithful son, a chaste wife, a happy-faced master, a loving friend, a sincere relative, a hairless mind, a beautiful figure, stable wealth and a face beautified by learning, all these are attained by the one in whom the Supreme Lord Krishna, the Fulfiller of all desires, is pleased. Without the grace of Vishwesh Lakshmipati Narayan, the best things are not available.
Do not do violence to living beings, stop the mind from stealing other people's money, speak the truth, donate according to your ability at the time, do not talk about other women and do not listen, break the flow of thirst, be humble in front of teachers and have mercy on all living beings. Generally speaking, according to all the Shashtras (scriptures), all these are the ways for the welfare of man.
There are three types of humans in the world -
1. Low, 2. medium and 3. Excellent .
Lowly people do not start work at all because of the fear of being interrupted. Average people start the work, but as soon as there is an obstacle, they leave it in the middle, but the work started by the best person, even if there is an obstacle on the obstacle, they leave it after completing it.
Good men do not beg from the wicked, do not ask for anything even from friends with little money, are satisfied with the livelihood of justice, do not do sinful deeds even at the cost of their lives, in times of depression they remain high i.e., do not panic, and follow the footsteps of great men. Who gave them the advice of this hard fast like the edge of a sword? No one, they are like this by nature. It means that the above-mentioned qualities in good men do not come from anyone's teaching, they have all these qualities by nature or by birth.
The lion who is the leader of the honourable and who is always fond of eating the severed head of drunken elephants, no matter how hungry, weak due to old age, powerless, extremely sad and lustful he may be - but even when the time of death comes. Will never be ready to eat dry, rotten grass.
The dog is very happy after getting a little bit of bile and fat stained and fleshless small bone of the cow instinct animal - which cannot satisfy its appetite. But the lion, abandoning even the jackal in the lap, goes to kill the elephant.
Look at the dog, that he wags his tail in front of the one who gives him bread, falls at his feet, lies on the ground and shows his mouth and stomach. On the other hand, look at the best elephant, that he looks patiently at the one who feeds him and eats only after getting hundreds of compliments.
Who does not take birth after dying in this changing world? Taking birth is meaningful for the one, whose birth increases the glory or progress of the dynasty.
Like a bunch of flowers, there are two types of movement of great men - either they sit on the heads of all people, or they are born in the forest and wither in the forest.
Jupiter and five six other planets are the best in the sky, but Rahu, who wishes to show extraordinary might, does not have enmity with these planets. Although the head of the demon king is only a remnant, he devours only on the new moon and the full moon - Dineshwar Surya (Sun) and Nishanath Chandra (Moon). It is the nature of great men that they do not have enmity with the little ones, because winning a little one does not bring fame but being defeated brings defamation – defeat, even after winning from the little one and defeat, even when defeated. Great men, therefore, fight only with those of equal or greater strength than themselves.
The lion who destroys the kandu (itching) of Gajgandsthal (anus), which of his prowess among the deer should he describe? (Brave men reveal their valour only in men like themselves, not in the lowly).
Sheshnag has kept the range of fourteen Bhuvans on its hood, Kachchparaj has kept that Sheshnag on the middle part of his back, but the sea has kept this Kachchparaj in its lap considering it as a light thing. It is evident from this that there is no limit to the glory of the character of elders.
Himalaya's son Mainak, leaving his father in trouble, took refuge in the sea for his protection - he did not do this well. It would have been better if Mainak himself would have got his wings cut off by the fiery thunderbolt of the intoxicated Indra.
When even a gem without consciousness gets burnt by the touch of feet in the form of sun rays, then how can a bright man with consciousness tolerate the insult done to others?
Even if a lion is a small pup, it strikes only on the head of a perfect elephant with dirty cheeks. This is the nature of the bright ones. Undoubtedly, the condition is not caused by Tej (fiery).
If caste goes to the lower world, all virtues go down to the lower worlds, if modesty is destroyed by falling from the mountain, relatives are burnt to ashes in fire and thunder strikes on Vain's bravery - then there is no problem, but our wealth should not be destroyed. Yes, we only want money, because without money all the qualities of a man are as useless as straws.
All the senses are the same as they are, the work is also the same, but without the heat of one wealth the same man becomes another. No doubt this is a strange thing.
The one who has money, he is elite, scholar, scientist, speaker and notable. This proved that all the qualities are in money only.
It is good to sit under a tree in a forest with lions, eat ripe fruits, drink water and sleep on a bed of grass; But it is not good to live poor in the midst of relatives.
A king by an evil minister, a sanyasi by the company of worldly people, a son by pampering, a Brahmin by not studying, a clan by a bad son, modesty by serving a wretch, shame by drinking alcohol, farming by not taking care, affection by living abroad, Friendship without love, wealth by unrighteousness and indiscriminate spending is destroyed.
Donation, Enjoyment and Destruction - these are the fast motions of money. The one who did not give and did not enjoy, his wealth has third motion.
A polished gem, a victorious warrior injured by weapons, a weak elephant, a river with dry banks and little water in autumn, the new moon devoid of art, a young girl weary of manly kisses, and a gentleman who has donated all his money to poverty. All of them get grace only by their loss or weakness.
Oh king! If you want to milk the earth in the form of a cow, then take care of the calf in the form of subjects. If you take good care of the calf in the form of people, then the earth will give you different types of fruits like heavenly imagination.
Politics, like a prostitute, has many forms. Somewhere she is truthful and sometimes untruthful, sometimes harsh and sometimes loving, sometimes violent and sometimes kind, sometimes greedy and sometimes generous, sometimes wasteful and sometimes hoarding wealth.
Those men who do not have these six virtues - knowledge, fame, following Brahmins, charity, enjoyment and protection of friends, their service to the kingdom is useless.
A little or a lot - the amount of wealth that the creator has written in your destiny, you will definitely get that much even in the desert; You cannot get more than that even on Sumeru; That's why be satisfied, don't beg in vain in front of the donors; Because look, the pitcher receives water equally (in equal quantity) from the sea and the well.
Oh, great cloud! Who doesn't know that you are the only support of our wheels? Why do you wait for our humble words? Chatak says - O cloud! There are many water bodies like rivers, streams and lakes in the world; Even if we die of thirst, we don't drink anyone's water except you. Except your water, Ganga, Jamuna, Saraswati and Indus Prabhruti are dust for us. You are our only refuge. In this situation it is not right for you to make us humble again and again.
Even if the wicked is a scholar, it is right to leave him, because isn't a snake covered with a gem more dangerous?
Describing the shy as fools, the fasting as swindlers, the pious as sly, the brave as merciless, the silent as unintelligent, the eloquent as humble, the eloquent as arrogant, the eloquent as talkative and the quiet as incapable. Which qualities of the virtuous have not been tarnished by the wicked?
If there is greed, then more qualities are needed? If there is blasphemy or backbiting, then what is the need for more sins? If there is truth, then what is the use of penance? If the mind is pure then what is the use of pilgrimages? If there is gentleness, then what is the need of virtues? If there is fame, then what is the need of ornaments? If there is good education, then what is the use of money? If there is failure, then what will happen other than death?
The dirty moon of the day, the youth less courtesan, the lotus-less lake, the illiterate beauty, the miserly lord or king, the poverty of the gentleman and the presence of the wicked in the royal assembly – these seven prick our hearts like thorns.
Fiercely wrathful kings have no one to love. Just as the fire burns the person performing the Havan (Yajna) as soon as it touches it, similarly the king also does not belong to anyone.
If the servant remains silent, the master calls him dumb; If he speaks, he is called a talker; If he stays close, he says insolent; If he hears insult without reaction, he is called a coward and if he does not tolerate it, he is called lowly. It means that dharma of service – foreign service is very difficult, inaccessible even to yogis.
One who is the crown of the wicked, one who is despotic or without decorum, one who is vicious in the other world because of the misdeeds of previous lives, one who has become rich by good fortune and one who hates the best of qualities - by living under such a low, who can be happy?
The friendship of the wicked, like the shadow of the morning, is very long and wide in the beginning and gradually decreases afterwards; But the friendship of gentlemen is like a shadow in the afternoon, at first it is very little and later it is going to increase gradually.
The deer, the fish and the gentleman subsist on straw, water and satisfaction respectively; But hunters, fishermen and evil people have enmity with them without any reason.
Longing for the company of gentlemen, love for other people's qualities, humility with elders, addiction to learning, love for one's own woman, fear of public condemnation, devotion to Shiva, power to control the mind and absence of the company of the wicked. We salute those who have these great qualities.
Patience in adversity, forgiveness in growth, cleverness of speech in assembly, prowess in war, desire in fame, addiction to scriptures - these six qualities are proved in Mahatma people by nature itself.
Keeping charity a secret, welcoming those who come home, keeping quiet after doing good to strangers, telling others' favors in front of everyone, not being proud of being rich and saying other people's things without condemning - these qualities are inherent in Mahatmas (great people).
Even without opulence, hands - by donation of great men, head - by bowing to the teachers, mouth - by speaking the truth, arms - desirous of victory, heart - by pure attitude and ears by the scriptures are worthy of glory.
In times of wealth, the mind of great men remains softer than soft and in times of calamity it becomes hard like a big rock on a mountain.
When a drop of water falls on a hot iron, even its name does not remain; The same drop of water falling on a lotus leaf becomes like a pearl and the same drop of water falling in a seashell in Swati Nakshatra becomes a pearl. This proves that in the world, bad, medium and good qualities are mostly due to association.
He is the son who pleases his father with his good character, she is the woman who always wishes well for her husband, and he is a friend who remains the same in both the conditions of prosperity and adversity. Only the lucky ones get these three in the world.
One deity should be worshipped - Keshav or Shiva; One should have only one friend - be it a king or an ascetic, one should live in one place - in a city or in a forest, and one should have luxuries - with a beautiful woman or a cave.
He rises above humility, glorifies his own virtues by chanting the virtues of others – by doing good to others, he also builds his own interests and shames the slanderers by his forgiveness – by such a wonderful conduct, everyone's honourable Sat-Purush, who is not worship-able in the world?
While churning the ocean, the deities were not satisfied even after finding different types of precious gems – they did not stop churning the ocean. In spite of being frightened by the terrible poison, they did not give up their task. They didn't rest until the nectar came out - they kept on working hard. This proves that brave men do not give up their work due to panic in the middle, without getting their definite meaning – the desired object.
Sometimes they sleep on the ground and sometimes they sleep on the best bed, sometimes they live by eating greens, sometimes they say pulses and rice, sometimes they wear old rags and sometimes they wear divine clothes – men who gear up for achievement, consider both happiness and sorrow as nothing.
The jewel of wealth is gentleness, the jewel of valour is to speak without pride, the jewel of knowledge is peace, the jewel of seeing the scriptures is modesty, the jewel of wealth is donating to the deserving, the jewel of penance is non-anger, the jewel of lordship is forgiveness, and the jewel of dharma is innocence, but Modesty is the cause of others (qualities) and the best decoration of all virtues.
Ethical people may condemn, praise, Lakshmi may come or go, life may perish now or may be in the end of the imagination - but patient men do not deviate from the path of justice.
A snake was lying locked in a box, disappointed with life, relaxed from the body and was getting distraught with hunger. At that time, a mouse entered through a hole in the box during the night, hoping to get some food and fell into the snake's mouth. The snake was satisfied after eating it and went out of the way of the hole made by the same rat and became free. Seeing this phenomenon, humans should understand the divine as the only reason for their growth and decay.
Just as a ball rises high even when it is dropped from the hand, in the same way, the calamity of those who follow a saintly attitude also does not last forever.
Laziness is a fierce enemy living in the body of humans, and they have no friend like diligence; Because sorrows do not come to a man who is dilligent.
A tree that has been cut down grows again and spreads, even the moon that has been emaciated gradually grows and becomes whole again, understanding this, the sages do not panic in their calamity.
Who has a minister like Brihaspati (Jupiter), scriptures like thunderbolt, army of gods, fort like heaven, vehicle like Airavat and who is blessed by Lord Vishnu – even Indra with such peerless opulence kept on losing in the war with the enemies, this proves, that effort is futile and worthy of condemnation. The only God is the refuge of all.
Although humans get fruits according to their deeds and intelligence also becomes according to their deeds; However, the wise should act after thinking carefully.
The head of a bald man started burning with the sun. For want of shade, he went and stood under a palm tree. As soon as he reached there, a big palm-fruit fell on his head with great force. It cracked his skull. This proves that wherever a person who is unlucky goes, his calamity often goes along with him.
Seeing the bond between the elephant and the snake, seeing the eclipse of the sun and the moon and seeing the poverty of the wise – I understand that the creator is the most powerful.
It is very sad that even after creating the mine of all virtues and the jewels on the earth, the creator makes his body brittle. This shows the stupidity of the Creator.
If the leaves do not grow in the Karil tree (Capparis decidua), then what is the fault of spring in it? If the owl does not understand during the day, then what is the fault of the sun in this? If the stream of water does not fall in the mouth of the sinner, then what is the fault of the cloud? No one can erase whatever the creator has written in the fate.
We all worship the Gods, but they are all seen under the Creator, that's why we worship the Creator, but the Creator also gives fruits according to the deeds of our previous births. When both the fruit and the creator are under the control of karma, then what is meant by the gods and the creator? Karma is paramount; That's why we salute Karma, against which even the creator can do nothing.
The Karma by which Brahma is always working as a potter in this universe, Lord Vishnu is in the trouble of taking ten incarnations, Rudra keeps on begging with a skull in his hand and the Sun keeps spinning in the sky, that Karma We greet.
Beautiful shape, good family, modesty, knowledge and well-done service - all these do not give any result to a man; But the deeds of the previous birth bear fruit at the right time, like a tree.
In the forest, in the battle, in the enemies, in the fire, sleeping on the top of the sea or mountain, protecting the man who is in trouble, the good deeds of the previous birth do.
O gentlemen! If you want the desired fruit, then you should worship only Bhagwati in the form of Satkriya without suffering and hard work in virtues. She can turn wicked into gentlemen, fools into scholars, enemies into friends, secret topics revealed and Halahal poison into instant nectar.
No matter how good or bad a work is, the intelligent worker should first think about its result and then engage in work; Because the result of work done without thinking, very quickly, burns the heart till death and pricks like a thorn.
One who does not perform penance in this work-land - the world - is undoubtedly like a fool who cooks garlic with sandalwood fuel in a pot of turquoise; Or he wants to get the root of aak (Calotropis gigantea) by ploughing with the golden plow in the field or he cuts the camphor trees around the field and use them as fence.
Even if you dive in the sea; Even if you climb on Sumeru's head; Even if you win the enemies in a fierce battle; whether farming, commerce-trade and all other learning and arts; Even if you fly in the sky like birds with great effort; But due to destiny, the impossible does not happen and the promising does not go away.
For a person whose good deeds - virtues - are more in his previous birth, for him a terrible forest becomes a city. All human beings become his well-wisher friends and the whole earth becomes full of gems for him.
What is profit? The company of virtues. What is sorrow? Contagion of fools. What is loss? Missing on time. What is dexterity? Dharmic devotion. Who is Brave? Conqueror of the senses. How good is the woman? One who is friendly and virtuous. What is wealth? Knowledge. What is happiness? Not staying in migration. What is state? To follow your orders.
The one who is poor in unpleasant words, rich in loving words, remains satisfied with his own woman and avoids the criticism of others - the earth is rarely graceful with such men.
A patient man does not give up his patience even when he is in severe pain; Because even when the ignited fire is turned upside down, its crest remains upwards.
The sarcasm of women does not pierce his heart, the flame of anger does not burn his soul, and the pleasures of the senses do not ensnare his mind by tying them in the noose of greed, that patient man controls the three worlds.
As a bright sun illuminates the whole world; In the same way, a brave man can take the whole earth under his control by pressing it under his feet.
The person who has the modesty that attracts the whole world, for him fire seems like water; The ocean appears like a small river, Mount Sumeru appears like a small rock, the lion quickly becomes like a deer in front of him, the snake becomes like a garland of flowers for him, and the poison becomes like nectar.
Satyavrata Tejasvi men think it's better to sacrifice their lives than to break their vows, because the vow is the mother of the group of virtues, and pure-hearted and independent like its mother.
This is all Niti Shatakam.
